FRAGMA - EMBRACE
Fragma "Embrace" Album Review
Worth every cent!
I found this as I was looking up one of my other Trance favorites (Lasgo or Ian Van Dahl or something) and it was under that section "Customers Who Bought This Also Bought..." so I downloaded a few sample songs from WinMX to see if they're any good and I loved what I heard. Decided to buy the CD. No regrets at all. Definately a must for any trance lover!

AMBER - ANYWAY
Amber "Anyway" Album Review
An excellent single for the club goers
Amber releases "Anyway (Men Are From Mars)" as her 3rd single uplifted from her Naked CD. The song represents a mixture of dance and pop at it's best with sexy, lustful lyrics. The single is pacted with 6 mixes (3 edits, 2 full lengths + a dub) what a treat!
1. Men Are From Mars [Chris Cox Radio Mix] 4:02 - This is the closest to the album version that the single gets. Beginning with a country guitaristic beat with her singing a cappella style. The beats from the album version are present but transformed into a dance BPM rhythm kind of thing. It's a pretty laid back dance mix. Very well done. *****
2. Men Are From Mars [Al.B. Rich Radio Edit] 3:51 - This is an more upbeat remix than the Chris Cox Mix. From the beginning you get hard impulses of dance beats sounding like an anthem. The slick techno factory sounds are present, helping to enhance the mix (it really, really does!) This is more heavier and more danceable than track 1. I prefer this track because it perfectly fits in the club scene. *****
3. Men Are From Mars [DJ Encore Radio Edit] 4:09 - This mix is has more rave and sound effects more so than the others. Her voice is vocoded (sounding like she's in space traveling effect.) The lyrics are re-arranged and remixed. This remix presents trance/rave. The best remix that's present on this album. The mixes just keeps getting better and better! *****+
4. Men Are From Mars [Al.B. Rich Club Mix] 10:17 - Basically this is the full mix to the radio edit from track 1. Longer, harder impulses, newly added beats (sounds like tribal at the beginning) released and full vocal lyrics. *****
5. Men Are From Mars [DJ Encore Club Mix] 7:23 - The shortest full length mix on the single. Again the trance/techno beats are present and longer. The only downfall in my opinion about this remix is that it could of been an 10 minute remix. If you love hard trance/techno this track is for you. ****+
6. Men Are From Mars [That Kid Chris Dub Mix] 9:13 - This track is a weird remix. Completlely different from the radio edit, If you're familiar with Junior Vasquez Factory Mixes, you know what I'm talking about. The only lyric that is present "free yourself" & "can't be myself". This is way more better than the radio edit. I was just looking forward to the radio edit dub. But listening to this, this is the one track that will make you dance and changes the quiet room atmosphere to the go-go dancing club scene. Excellent Mix Chris! *****++
This is a great single release for it's price. What makes this single different from other artists singles are the mixes. Even thoug they're remixed by only 3 well known DJ's, they all have their own significant difference. Nothing plain here! I highly that you recommend this to your collection!
Video Sweet Amber - St. Anger (Murphy's Remix)
As documented in Some Kind of Monster, Metallica and Bob Rock barely could keep together as people let alone effectively write and record a new album. For all St. Anger's flaws, I've always felt that there were "better" songs in the album and wanted to remix/rearrange the songs to prove it. I tried to remain true to the originals, yet excluded several sections to keep the music moving. In my opinion, if the album was intended to sound like a band jamming for the first time then the songs would have been quick and hard. Anyway, I think these remixes are really awesome and that lots of you out there will enjoy some new versions of St. Anger. (Apparently, we're waiting until May for the new album anyway!!!)
